Wind Site Technician Careers with a Top Wind Energy Company

Interview for Wind Site Technician positions through Orion

Orion is currently recruiting Site Technicians for a world leader in modern energy. Positions are located in Carnegie/Lawton, OK; Hampton, IA; Uvalde, TX; and Waslenburg, CO. We are recruiting for Level 1 and Level 2 Technicians, with starting salary ranging from $17 to 24/hour, depending on your level.

In this entry-level position, you will utilize skills and training to perform maintenance and/or installation on assigned wind turbines at a basic level. You will follow defined schedules and procedures, including safety protocol, turbine service and/or installation processes, and other verbal and written instruction.
Responsibilities include:

  • Perform basic level wind turbine service and/or installation tasks to include introductory operation and use of tools and basic turbine equipment
  • Gather information and assist higher level technical staff in diagnosis of turbine issues
  • Follow defined instructions and maintenance schedules, executing plans as directed
  • Adhere to all safety standards, procedures, and environment and provide recommendations on gaps in safety standards to higher level technical staff and management
  • Minimal customer interface
  • May work overtime and will travel as needed to meet business objectives
  • Proven leadership skills in communications, maintenance, or other technical area, especially in a field deployed environment
  • Valid driver’s license and able to apply for Passport
  • Ability to act and think independently
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical skills and/or demonstrated aptitude toward such skills
  • Experience using basic power tools
  • Ability to pass climb test
Career Progression:

You may be hired as a Technician Level 1 or 2; with career progression expected to Level 3 and Level 4 Technician with experience.
