As the Boiler and Machinery Authorized Inspector Trainee, you will be responsible for performing inspections of boilers and pressure vessels as required by the American Society of Mechanical Engineering Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME Code) Sections III, including:
• Referencing construction codes and standards for clients • Performing new construction, repairing, alteration and jurisdiction inspections of boilers and pressure vessels • Scheduling inspections as assigned • Training for 12-14 weeks through the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) training/certification course • 80 hours of on-the-job training with another inspector to complete training process

Travel Requirements: Travel is required for days or weeks at a time, depending on territory.

Progression follows as Master Coordinator to Generation Dispatcher to Power Director to Master Dispatcher to Shift Supervisor, then Manager in one of several divisions.
Salary: $45k-$50k plus overtime. Company car, computer, and phone service will be provided after training is completed.

Position Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or high school diploma and equivalent work experience • 3-5 years of boiler and/or high pressure steam and water system maintenance and operation experience • 4+ years of mechanical experience with Boilers and Pressure Vessels in a power plant, either Nuke or conventional • MM/BT, or an SRO and/or a Steam PPWO/EOOW for 3+ years • Quality Assurance inspections of mechanical equipment, water and steam systems • Boiler and/or steam system maintenance and operation • Inspections on mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems • NBIC Boiler Inspector Qualification a plus • Insurance inspection service experience involving risk-based inspections and analysis • Computer skills: Microsoft Office and web based applications, Lotus Notes • Communication skills: e-mail, telephone, and face to face communication • No more than one moving violation ticket in the last 5 years
