Michael Palatas
Assistant Director of Operations
North American Scientific

"No other service that I used prior to working with Orion gave me the service or satisfaction that I got in only two months with Orion. During the final negotiations with my new employer, my Recruiter secured a larger salary for me after he discovered a mistake in the company's initial offer letter. Talk about going the extra mile!"

Herb Bowsher
Field Operations Manager
American Rail

"What makes Orion stand out to me is that they truly care about the individual and finding the best fit for that person. Transitioning from the military to the corporate world is not easy, and I could not have been successful without a dedicated and knowledgeable firm like Orion guiding me through the process."

Carrie Owen
Environmental Services Supervisor
CBRE

"I was very happy with the level of treatment that I have received from all of the Orion staff. They were friendly and responsive. While the competition failed to meet my needs, Orion came through! There is absolutely no reason not to use Orion. There is no cost to the job seeker, and there is nothing to lose. You have everything to gain!"

Scott Swantner
Labor Relations Assistant
Pacific Maritime Association

"After graduating from the Naval Academy in 2001, I became an Infantry Officer in the Marine Corps for seven years. I began searching for jobs to transition from the military when I was at my last duty station at the U.S. Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, serving as an Inspecting/Executive Officer in December of 2007(six months before my end of active service). I heard about Orion International from a few colleagues who had transitioned out of my same job and used Orion to make it a successful transition.

I originally worked with Stephanie Moser and then with JP Sniffen when I expressed my desire for employment on the West Coast. JP provided outstanding advice and support from the onset and continued to mentor and assist me all the way up until the acceptance phase of my new position with Pacific Maritime Association. All of my needs and desires were considered throughout the hiring conference preparation and execution process.

Of special note was Account Executive Jim Perdue, who actually worked with Pacific Maritime Association to get me the right job in a location the company was not even considering hiring people for initially. If it wasn't for Jim working diligently on my behalf to help secure my employment desires, I am confident this excellent employment opportunity would have passed me by.

I went through the entire process with Orion, initial resume writing and review (thanks to Genna Clough!), video conferencing prep, hiring conference prep, two days of initial interviews, and follow-up interviews with specific companies. JP and his associates knew I would only be in the United States for the week of the hiring conference and worked with all the companies who were interested in me to secure follow-up interviews in the San Diego/LA area within that week, so I could better develop my selection criteria for employment before returning to Germany.

It was due to Orion's preparation in the interview/resume phase and their follow-through on my behalf even after I had returned to Germany that I was hired as a Labor Relations Assistant with Pacific Maritime Association. This is the job I was most excited about when I first arrived at the hiring conference, and I was very pleased at being offered the position in the exact geographical location I had originally wanted- the San Francisco Bay Area.

If I can give one piece of advice to the junior military officer wavering on a choice of which hiring firm to use.....go with Orion International! Not only can I personally attest to their quality and expertise, but so can many of my close friends who used them to achieve the same stellar results that I did. Thanks again for all the help and support!"

"Orion International has no competition in my opinion! The Orion team was GREAT! I felt fortunate that the Orion staff took the time to play matchmaker and steer me along the road of opportunities. The folks at Orion are great at what they do."

Sarah Jansen
Training Specialist
Southern California Edison

"Although I separated from the Navy in June 2007, I took some time to myself after getting out of the Navy to decide what path/career I wanted to follow. I began to communicate with Orion International around the time I got out of the military, but it was not until their April 2008 hiring conference that I really began to search for a new career. During the time between my separation and job search, Orion was very understanding. They kept in touch with me by sending me periodic emails to check in.

Once I decided to start my job search, I began communicating with my recruiter, Katrina Ross, regularly. I also worked with JP Sniffen. They were great at listening to my needs and considerations. They also put me in touch with East Coast recruiters for several job opportunities there. Ultimately, it was the April Hiring Conference in San Diego that I attended that got me the job I now have.

I started as a Training Specialist at Southern California Edison in May. This is definitely the type of position I was looking for, and it is in an industry that interests me. My new position will be challenging and rewarding, and it is with a company that offers the opportunity for movement, both upward and between departments.

I am very satisfied with my experience with Orion. They were professional and put me in front of the right people. They also ensured that I was well prepared for my interviews. I'm very happy that they stuck with me while I figured out what it was I wanted to do!"

Tim O'Neill
Value Stream Leader
CIRCOR Aerospace

"Because of my overseas location, it was difficult to start my job search on my own. I was a Government Flight Representative, O-3, in Wiesbaden, Germany, when I began to look for a new career in October 2007. This was in preparation for my separation from the Air Force in December. I wish I would have contacted Orion International sooner than I did, but it all worked out in the end! At first, I worked with a different recruiting firm before a work colleague of mine introduced me to Orion. Orion was hands-down the leader of the two. From the job selection to the recruitment team, Orion was a more professional group with which to work.

I have nothing but praise for my recruiter, Katrina Ross! It was a great experience from the get-go. All my questions were answered up-front, and the follow-up during the entire process was outstanding. Thanks to both Katrina and JP Sniffen!

I went through the entire Orion hiring process...from A to Z, starting with my application online, to meeting Katrina and JP at the San Diego office, then to the hiring conference. I have to say that during the entire process, I was never lost or made to feel like I was just 'another candidate' or 'number' in the Rolodex. Katrina and JP were completely professional and honest throughout the duration, and it was great working with prior military since they 'get it' (exactly what we're going through) and can tailor our needs to future employers.

I'm ready to start my new career as a Value Stream Leader (Business Unit Manager); part Quality Control, part Engineering, and part Manager, which is exactly what I was looking for. I'd like to thank both Katrina and JP and crew for a smoother transition than I could have hoped for. I'd do it again in a heart beat (this time going straight to Orion and bypassing the other firms) and will most definitely recommend Orion to my associates as they transition out of the military! A big thanks to Orion!"

Dan Johnson
Management Trainee
Roseburg Forest Products

"I was a Captain in the Army Infantry and most recently served as a Rear Detachment commander after various platoon leader positions, including a year-long tour in Iraq. When it came time to look for a new career, I utilized Orion International. JP Sniffen was my recruiter at Orion, and he was great! He was very frank and honest about the opportunities available to me.

I went to the Seattle hiring conference and came away with two great opportunities. I felt extremely well prepared for each interview and meeting. The staff always made sure I was in the loop, even during a busy holiday season. I knew exactly where I stood with each organization that was considering me.

I had multiple follow-up interviews and was offered a job by two of the companies within the same week. I was able to choose between two great jobs that were competing for me. I will be a management trainee at Roseburg Forest Products for the first year and then placed somewhere within the organization. Roseburg is committed to teaching me the ropes at their company, and they will place me according to my strengths in their large organization.

Orion was great. I went to two hiring conferences run by recruiting agencies other than Orion, and I was much more impressed with the businesses in the Orion conference. The companies that Orion works with seem more stable and local than those that the competition presented at conference. Orion offered my family and me stability and the commitment to helping me develop into a successful business leader. Working with Orion was a great experience!"

"I was a Captain in United States Air Force when I began to search for employment through various recruiting firms while stationed overseas. Unfortunately, no one would return my calls or emails. Upon returning to the States, I continued my career search and dealt with other recruiters that, once again, led nowhere. Finally, I contacted all my friends and associates in the hopes that one of them could point me in the right recruiting direction.

In response, one of my friends recommended Orion International. I must admit that I took the recommendation lightly at first, as I was already working with several other recruiters with expertise in the placing of military veterans. It turns out I was lucky to have been told about the Orion team. Rob Gumpper, my recruiter, treated me with respect and sincerity. I also dealt with others at Orion who would contact me about career/employment opportunities. Everyone worked together to help their client-me!

The Orion hiring conferences and interviews I attended were paramount to my success in placement. The process was extremely professional and comforting. The Orion hiring conference is the best, bar none! I am currently in an ideal position with a construction/engineering firm, where I am working my way to becoming a Project Manager. I had lost all hope of starting my career in Project Management until Orion found a way and made it happen. Action not just words! Orion not only met my needs but exceeded them where others failed. Orion's competition pales in comparison. In fact, Orion does not compare; they surpass!

I am extremely happy with my placement and would highly recommend Orion to any and all veterans. Orion appreciates and understands veterans, while better fulfilling their requests. They are better suited for this type of placement, because most of the staff at Orion are veterans themselves. Orion has changed my life!"

Ann Marie Marvin

"I was a Surface Warfare Officer when I separated from the Navy in December 2005 and found a job on my own. Then, in November of 2007, I started looking again. I had heard of Orion International while I was still Active Duty and decided to give them a try this time around. Bill Fitzgerald, my Orion recruiter, was very good. I attended two Orion hiring conferences, one in December 2007 and one in January 2008.

I was very adamant that I wanted a sales position in San Diego, and Bill, unlike other recruiters, did not push me otherwise beyond the standard disclaimer that it was harder to find work in San Diego. I am now a Sales Representative. Previous to Orion, I worked with another recruiting firm and found them to be non-responsive and pushy. (I interviewed for a job I didn't like, and they weren't happy with me when I told them 'no'.) I was very pleased with communication at Orion, especially once I was in the pipeline with the company that hired me."

Robert Mercado
Team Coordinator
Oshkosh Truck Corporation

"After getting a referral for Orion International from a friend, I looked the firm up and was shortly working with Todd Phillips. From day one I felt extremely comfortable with him. He made me feel like I was the only JMO he was helping. His personality, confidence, and effort were beyond exceptional. DJ Holder also gave me great insight into the company with whom I interviewed.

Due to timing issues, I was never able to attend a conference, so Todd approached me with a non-conference opportunity with Oshkosh Truck. He set up a phone interview shortly after that. I was called for a second interview, and, eventually, the final assessment, where I went through three leadership exercises. It was a tough process, but they liked me enough to offer me a leadership position with their company.

Todd and his colleagues worked very hard. It's because of their hard work and persistence that I was given a chance with a great company. I am extremely excited about the opportunity. It is a great leadership opportunity working for a well-established company, and I think it will be a great fit. I was looking for an opportunity to grow as a leader, and this position allows me to do that.

I worked a little with other recruiting agencies, and I have to say that Orion is in a completely different league. The effort and overall customer service Orion provided was second to none. Orion definitely outshined the competition.

I just want to say thank you to everyone at Orion for working with me over the last few months. This has been a life-changing transition, and the people at Orion definitely made it easier. I will definitely recommend Orion to JMOs who want world-class service when separating from the service. Thanks again!"

Nicholas Kardonsky
Stryker Endoscopy
Associate Purchasing Analyst

"I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Orion International. In September 2007, I returned from a 15-month deployment in Iraq and planned on terminating my service with the Army in March 2008. With my ETS leave, my target was to begin a civilian occupation by late January.

When it came time to officially begin looking for a job, I contacted Orion International. After speaking to Katrina Ross, my recruiter, in late September, she immediately matched my personality type and characteristics with someone who would want to work for Stryker Endoscopy. I had never heard of the company prior to my conversation with Katrina; however, she assured me that based on our conversations, I would definitely fit in with the folks at Stryker. My job search parameters were somewhat simple: I wanted to work in the Washington State or Oregon, and I was primarily looking for a position in sales or operations. After sending me some information about the company, she began the process of getting me hired with Stryker.

After passing the initial phone-screen and later the Stryker Gallup phone screen, I was extended an offer by Stryker Endoscopy to attend an on-site orientation and interview in San Jose. At first, I was hesitant to accept the offer to travel to San Jose, because it was outside my geographic preferences for employment. However, Jennifer Terrell assured me that I should at least attend the on-site orientation and compete for an offer.

I accepted her advice and planned to visit Stryker in late October. When I flew to Stryker, I was completely blown away and impressed by the people and their contagious high-energy work environment. I knew after speaking with the unit managers that I would be a great fit for the company, and that I would love working for the people at Stryker.

Two days later, I was extended an offer of employment by Stryker as an Associate Purchasing Analyst. I was absolutely thrilled! Although the job was outside my geographic preferences, I decided that ultimately working in a company with people that I will enjoy is far more important than job location. I know that I'm going to enjoy going to work every day, and to me, that is absolutely critical.

I never needed any of the job leads available through other recruiting agencies, because I had an offer from Stryker roughly 48 hours after my on-site interview. I didn't even end up attending an Orion hiring conference, because the direct placement into Stryker was perfect for me and my family. Now I can enjoy my holiday and ETS leave and not worry about employment. I want to thank the people at Orion International for assisting me in my transition from military life to the corporate world."

Jose Nunez
First Line Supervisor
ExxonMobil

"The last position I held in the military was Company Executive Officer, Captain, Army Armor Corps. I was last stationed in Baumholder, Germany. Orion International came to my attention through my ACAP office when I officially separated from the military in February 2007, but I did not pursue using them until December 2007.

Katrina Ross was my recruiter. She was definitely working beyond the typical 9-5, because she gave my case such detailed attention. When I thought about all the other candidates she must represent, I knew she was a very committed person and was genuinely interested in all of our success. She listened very intently, retained surprisingly small details about my concerns and goals, and, based on her 8pm phone calls to me, I knew she was working very hard around the clock to consider my needs and find the best courses of action for me.

The Orion hiring process was very fast. Once I contacted them, I attended the next available hiring conference, and Orion scheduled interviews with the companies I was interested in the most. When I was contacted for second interviews, Orion provided advice above and beyond the interview classes that were already offered. This was instrumental to my success. I obtained an offer within the month!

I will hold a position that will require extensive planning and organization comparable to that required at my last job in the Army. I didn't know exactly what type of job I was looking for when I contacted Orion, but I knew when this company presented itself at the conference, I wanted to be part of their team. Orion has exceeded my expectations and provided me with the opportunity to begin a new career in less than one month. Thank you for your efforts and your help! I hope Orion recognizes the great efforts of Katrina!"

Anton Valencic
Sales Account Manager
Hilti

"I officially separated from the Air Force in September 2007 but began looking for a job in January 2007. After not having any kind of luck, one of my co-workers told me that he went through Orion International to find a job when he separated, so I looked the company up. Orion was able to get me in the door for the interview and set me up with a company that I had not heard of and therefore would not have considered before.

For me, the struggle in looking for a job was that I did not know where to look. I knew that if I could just get an interview with a company, I could show them how my military experience made me an ideal candidate. Too often, though, I would hear back from companies that I had found on my own that they were grateful for my military service, but that I just didn't have anything to offer their company. Orion had already shown these companies the benefits of hiring JMOs, so all that was left for me to do was sell myself as the best candidate.

At Orion, I worked with Katrina Ross and JP Sniffen. I felt that Katrina and JP listened to my needs, helped me with my resume, and listened to my concerns about the companies with whom I had interviewed. Their attention enabled me to negotiate a deal that worked best for me and my family.

I attended a hiring conference in Seattle at the end of June where I interviewed with Hilti. I found that Orion's interviewing prep-course and practice made a big difference on the day of interviews. Hilti then hired me as a manager trainee. I will begin in a senior account manager/sales position while training to become a regional manager within the company. I was looking for either a business sales or management position, and this job is providing both for me. I see this job as a great opportunity, both in the long-term and short-term.

Orion stood out among its competitors. No other recruiter I worked with took the time to conduct interview preparation. Also, with Orion, I felt more like an individual. For example, I worked with another company who told me that my resume with them should only include my military experience and nothing else. When I worked with Orion, they had me use all of my past experiences on my resume. It is my opinion that one of my past jobs I held before I was in the military really set me apart and helped me obtain the position I have. I had a great experience working with Orion and am very happy with the job that I found."

Andrew Howard
Distribution Manager
Linde Gas

"In preparation for my separation from the Marines in May 2008, I began to look for a new career in August 2007. I was a Captain with an intelligence background, so I was pretty set on getting a government job after I got out. I did have some friends that had used Orion International, but, seeing as I thought I wanted a government job, I hadn't thought much about them.

I did, however, sign up on an Orion contact list at a job fair. I didn't expect much, though, and really had no intention of going corporate. That was until Rob Gumpper called me up and was very enthusiastic about getting me information and making sure I was on the right track for getting a job.

My primary recruiters were Rob and JP Sniffen. Like I said, Rob was very good about contacting me and making sure I was doing what I needed to do. When I told him that I wanted to go to work on the West Coast, he put me in touch with JP in San Diego. Like Rob, JP was very aggressive about getting me the right job and making sure I was taken care of. Both Rob and JP were great; they listened to what I wanted and made sure that I had all the best options laid out for me.

Once I began to work with Orion, I had an interview with Rob, and he put me in touch with JP. JP got me set up with an online class about how to interview successfully. Then I attended a hiring conference in San Diego while I was on terminal leave. The hiring conference was what paid off and got me the job.

I am going to be a distribution manager with Linde Gas in Richmond, California. I'll be managing a motor pool of about thirty truck drivers and ensuring that CO2 is distributed to all of the Bay Area. Honestly, it's not at all the job I was looking for, especially because it's a logistics job and I'm an intel guy. However, what makes it great is that I have a good job with great pay and benefits that will give me great experience. It's a job I never would have thought of without Orion helping me and one that I will enjoy.

I've enjoyed my experience with Orion. They took great care of me. I found out I actually knew some of the Orion recruiters from my time in the military, which, to my mind, means that Orion is a worthwhile group that cares about what it does due to the fact that they are veterans. If Rob and JP hadn't made that extra effort to take care of me and get me a good job, I would probably still be looking for a job."

Kostas Hatzidakis
First Line Superintendant
ExxonMobil

"Orion International is a very professional and dependable corporation with which to work. They were able to answer all of my questions and guided me easily through the recruiting process. JP Sniffen was an excellent recruiter and provided me with full support. I was treated very well, and he listened to all of my concerns. He was very flexible when I needed something and was able to make things happen for me.

I attended the San Diego hiring conference and narrowed it down to two companies. I went on second interviews at both companies and thought ExxonMobil would be the best fit for me. I informed ExxonMobil that they were my first choice, and they offered me a position with their company. I felt very confident during my interviews because of the training and knowledge provided to me by Orion. I attribute my success in all of my interviews to the confidence I built through Orion's recruiting process."

John Cantera, Jr.
Distribution Center Shipping Supervisor
Pier 1 Imports

"I was a Logistics Readiness Officer when I separated from the U.S. Air Force in April 2008. I actually started terminal leave in February, though, and had been actively searching for a new career since December 2007. I began to work with Orion International while working with other recruiting firms. While one firm provided a lot of interviews, they were rarely even the remotest match to my profile. The other firm was disappointing in that they only offered me one interview for each conference I was involved in, and the interview was not a match to my preferences either.

Considering I was an overseas candidate assigned to Korea during the job search process, Orion and Rob Gumpper took great care of me. Even with 7,000 miles between us, Rob was able to get a great idea of the type of position I wanted. Rob was very patient with me from the start. I was unable to attend several Atlanta conferences due to prior commitments. Despite this setback, Rob stayed engaged with me and kept me in the loop on opportunities that would interest me.

Once I was available for an Atlanta hiring conference, Rob went all out to prove that Orion was better than the competition. Before the Orion conference, I had attended other firms' conferences. Each paired me with companies that were in the manufacturing industry and not in the logistics industry in which I wanted to work.

When I got to the Orion conference in Atlanta, each job opportunity was of exceptional quality. My first interview was with Pier 1 Imports for a distribution center supervisor role. The position fit me like a glove, and the chemistry that I had with the interviewers was like magic. It was a feeling that I have never experienced with any other interview before. I remember thanking Rob after my first interview for getting it right the first time where the competition had failed me before. Rob and the Pier 1 account representative, Roger Ouimet, began working with the Pier 1 interviewers that same day to ensure that I was contacted for a follow-up interview the following week.

I was hired by Pier 1 as the Savannah Distribution Center Shipping Supervisor. I couldn't have found a better fit for my transition position. I never would have even thought of this position if it weren't for Rob.

Rob and Roger were attentive to my needs, as well as to the needs of Pier 1 as a client. In so doing, they were able to readily match candidates to meet the needs of the client and candidate at the same time. On top of introducing me to Pier 1, Rob and Roger worked very hard to ensure that I would stand out among other candidates who interviewed at the Savannah distribution center. They even assisted in compensation negotiations in order to ensure that when the job offer came from Pier 1, it would be an offer I wouldn't hesitate to accept.

Orion was hands down the best business association I have ever made. I look forward to continuing my relationship with Orion when I use their services to help find the perfect candidate to be my successor when I get promoted. If should ever become a candidate again, I will be sure to give Orion the first shot at placing me in the perfect job. Thanks again, Orion, especially Rob and Roger."

Jason Douthit
Sales Account Manager

"Orion International's team did a great job of preparing me for interview day at the hiring conference I attended. They hooked me up with six interviews. Thanks in large part to their preparation; I did extremely well in the interviews. Four of the six companies I talked to expressed interest in following up. I flew to two follow-ups, and both companies made offers soon thereafter.

The whole process from initial contact with Orion to the offers took approximately two months. Throughout the process, the San Diego Orion team was courteous, professional, and attentive to my concerns. I really had no idea what I wanted to do with my life after spending so long in the Navy, but I was excited about the options Orion presented to me."

Michael Scott
Program Manager
ETM, Inc.

"Having spent almost a year looking for work before utilizing Orion International, I was getting discouraged with the whole process. I hated online applications, because my future would become lost in the world of digits. When I began to work with Orion, I attended two hiring conferences, which were excellent. I came out of those conferences excited for the first time in almost year about my opportunities. From those conferences, I had four solid options and ended up having multiple offers.

Orion is your Sherpa. They do the bulk of the work. They find the opportunities that fit you, and they find companies who are ready to pull the trigger and hire someone. They also provide peace of mind by giving updates regarding the current situation during the awkward time between interview and decision. I am only disappointed I didn't go with Orion earlier. I would have saved a lot of my savings account!"

Meredith Williamson
Sales Engineer
Tyco Electronics

"I began working with Orion International two months after I separated from the Coast Guard, and I worked with Bill Fitzgerald. He listened to my career objectives and did his best to get interviews for me with jobs in San Diego. I participated in two hiring conferences. However, it was an interview I participated in after the second conference that led to my current position. I will be a Sales Engineer with Tyco Electronics. And, while it was not the type of job I initially thought I would be looking for, it ended up being a perfect fit. The job opportunities Orion presented me with were definitely better than those of the competition. Orion did a great job!"

Ken Bomongcag
Regional Manager
Diversified Protection Systems Inc.

"JP Sniffen really listened to and addressed my needs. He helped me find a job that was exactly the type of position I wanted. Other recruiting agencies simply did not have enough jobs that fit my criteria."

Chris Canfield
Project Manager
RQ Construction

"I am currently a Captain in the Marines, and my end of Active Service will be July 2008. I began to seriously start looking for jobs in March of this year. My Orion International recruiter was JP Sniffen. He was very professional and provided opportunities that were in line with the requirements that I established during our first meeting.

The hiring process was pretty easy. I attended a hiring conference in late April and interviewed with RQ Construction. That interview went well, and, after two more interviews, they offered me the job on Wednesday.

The entire process took about three weeks, and JP was there to assist and provide guidance the entire way. I will work for RQ Construction as a Project Manager. I was relatively open to different positions; however, Project Management was my primary goal based on what I felt I could offer from my experiences.

I was very impressed with the entire hiring process from initial candidate interview to the hiring conference to job offer. Orion takes a personal interest in their candidates by conducting quick follow-ups and feedback. I would recommend Orion to anyone transitioning out of the military."

Dora Branyan
Project Engineer
ExxonMobil

"I would definitely recommend Orion International to any JMO getting out. I will be getting out in June and started searching for jobs in February of this year. A friend who had used Orion told me about their services, so I began to work with them. I was initially working with another recruiting firm. However, I had heard a lot of negative responses from the JMO's that had previously used them, and I noticed they were a lot pushier than what I ever experienced with Orion.

My experience with Orion was very positive because of the San Diego team and my recruiter, Bill Fitzgerald. I would recommend him to anybody. He completely understood my preferences and was always available to guide me through the hiring process. I appreciated the fact that he didn't push me into anything and let me make my own decisions, while answering all of my questions. I could not have asked for a better recruiter.

I attended two hiring conferences through Orion. Because the two conferences were only a week apart, I was busy with second interviews the month following the conferences. After completing all of my follow-up interviews, I finally decided to go with Exxon, where I will be a Project Engineer. I was very impressed with the company and am glad that my recruiter allowed me to explore different options. Orion does an excellent job of listening to their clients and giving valuable recommendations."

Ron VanderVelde
Nufarm Americas

"I was referred to Orion International by a friend who had been placed in a position through them and was very happy with the results. I went through the process and found the same thing. The whole thing was fast, easy, and very professional. I was interviewed to find out exactly what I was looking for and to make sure I was a good match for the various companies at which I was looking. I got a position in exactly the area I was looking, doing exactly what I wanted, for the pay I wanted. I am now in a great job working with high quality people. I highly recommend Orion to anyone."

Simon Bhavilai
Project Manager
Limbach

"It's been a great two weeks at Limbach, and it's largely because of the efforts of the Orion International team! After I separated from the Army as a Captain in September 2007, I really didn't know where to go with my career outside the military. I was soon in contact with JP Sniffen at Orion, and he explained to me what the Orion team did. I decided that I didn't have anything to lose and allowed JP to use my resume. Within a week, I received a phone call from an Orion account executive to set me up with an interview. I went through about two to three interviews, until I received word about a hiring conference from JP in November. I was very impressed with the hiring conference in San Diego because of the dozens of firms that participated in the event. This is also where I initially interviewed with Limbach.

The hiring conference was a great opportunity for me to speak directly to dozens of firms instead of waiting through the typical resume-to-interview period that I would have experienced had I utilized an online resume website. JP, Katrina Ross, and the rest of the candidate recruiters were always motivated and put great effort into getting me interviews. I worked with another job placement firm, but they were never able to get me an interview. In contrast, Orion got me close to a dozen interviews. I am thoroughly impressed with Orion and have recommended them to my fellow colleagues that are planning to separate from the military."

Melanie Doran
Assistant Project Manager
Rosendin Electric

"I am so thankful to JP Sniffen, Jennifer Terrell, and Orion International for all their help with securing this position. I absolutely feel like JP and Jennifer listened to my wants and needs. They were both GREAT!!! I really appreciated the individual attention.

I attended the Rosendin Electric mini-conference, and Orion was great. They took care of everything, and Rosendin was such a wonderful host! Also, JP and Jennifer both made sure I was completely prepared for my interviews. I will be working as an Assistant Project Manager with Rosendin. This is precisely the type of position I was looking for; I wanted a position as a Project Manager and with a leading construction company.

Compared to the competition, Orion was more sympathetic to my needs and actually listened to me. They understood what I wanted and explained that placing me might be a challenge due to my limited ability to relocate. I appreciated their understanding and honesty.

I would highly recommend Orion to any of my friends who are departing the military. I found the individuals with Orion to be professional, knowledgeable, and, most importantly, they truly cared about my wants and needs. They weren't just trying to make me a number, but instead make me a success story. Thanks Orion!!!"

Chad Lee
Project Executive
Clark Construction Group

"I was a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy and retired in March 2008. I began to search for a job in October and by January was working with Bill Fitzgerald at Orion International. He was extremely helpful in getting me into an Orion hiring conference in less than five days of the initial contact. At that conference, I interviewed with three companies. Those interviews led to a follow-up interview with Clark Construction Group, and the rest is history! I will be a Project Executive.

There is no comparison to the competition. Orion was the one that delivered when I was beginning to doubt the others. And, to top it all off, the process moved like clockwork. It was almost too easy, but that is a great thing!"

Jeff Flogel
Commissioning Engineer
McKinstry

"My position as a commissioning engineer in energy services with McKinstry is a perfect match. Jim Perdue's advice and knowledge of McKinstry were always spot on. I cannot think of one example in which he said something that turned out to be inaccurate or in which he didn't know the answer to a question about the company. Bill Fitzgerald and Jim were also very engaged in the negotiation of the offer, during which we were successful in bumping up the compensation.

Orion International met my needs in a superior fashion by having regional opportunities versus large nationwide and international firms for which I'd have to relocate. I insisted on restricting my job search to the greater Seattle area, and Orion did not hesitate to march forward with those instructions. Orion provided me with outstanding opportunities to meet that job search criteria.

I thank Bill, Jim, and the rest of Orion for putting me in this position. I sent an email to a friend who is still in Djibouti, where I was deployed, so he can spread to word about Orion to people separating after deployment. The level of effort, understanding, and patience exhibited by Orion and the hiring company makes me feel comfortable that I will be working with a very competent team in a positive work environment. I'm very excited to get started!"

Sang Yu
Services Manager
Cintas

"I am excited to start my new job at Cintas thanks to Orion International. My recruiter, JP Sniffen was very helpful and professional. He answered all my questions and was always there to give me advice on various situations. It was a pleasure working with Orion."

George Benjamin
Quality Manager
Honeywell Aerospace

"I was attending Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Oak Harbor, Washington, going for a BS in Professional Aeronautics prior to landing this job as a Quality Engineer with Honeywell Aerospace through Orion International. I plan to continue online courses to reach that goal. As a CWO5 in the Navy, my last title was Avionics Production Officer in the Fleet Readiness Center Northwest at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Washington. My official discharge date was March 31, 2008, but I started terminal leave on January 5 and had sporadically been looking for jobs since about November. I started seriously job hunting about the middle of January and discovered Orion on the internet.

My Orion recruiter was Katrina Ross, and she was very encouraging throughout the process with Orion. She pressed me to interview with companies that I felt I did not qualify for or that didn't have a position fitting my qualifications. I met Katrina at the Orion hiring conference I attended in January. To prepare for the conference, I participated in the online interview techniques session.

I attended the conference a few days later, where I listened to briefs about the companies attending and the positions available. (Because I thought it was important to tackle all job possibilities, I also attended a hiring conference put on by another recruiting firm and found that Orion goes more in depth with the company briefs, which I believe is important to candidates.) Initially, after reviewing the list of companies that were attending the conference, I was only interested in two positions. But after listening to the company briefs, I found eight positions I wanted to interview for, and, as time allowed, I was able to get scheduled for six on Monday.

Of the six companies I interviewed with, five were quite interested in me for their positions. Honeywell was one of the companies that I didn't think would find me qualified, as they were looking for an individual with an Engineering degree, and I only have an AS degree in Accounting. So, it was because of Katrina's persistence that I interviewed with Honeywell and landed a job with them.all within a week!

I interviewed with three Honeywell representatives on Monday. By the end of the day, I was asked to come on-site for a second interview on Tuesday and tour their facility. On Tuesday, I first interviewed with the Site Manager and then with their HR specialist, along with their 'Operations Excellence' leader. On Wednesday, I officially applied for the position on Honeywell's website and was offered the position on Thursday. On Friday, I accepted the job!"

Shawn Strandberg
Value Stream Leader
CIRCOR Aerospace

"I worked with JP Sniffen, Bill Fitzgerald, and Genna Clough at Orion International. They were outstanding in every regard. I really felt prepared for each interview. The hiring conference was managed professionally and meticulously organized. I was provided a detailed itinerary of interviews and company briefs. In fact, I felt overly prepared and at ease during each interview due to JP's coaching.

My military transition was very easy and stress free. I would not have been exposed to the corporations with which I interviewed without Orion's help. JP runs a great program. He has some exceptional people on his team who are willing to surpass the norm to help you succeed."

Chad Hopkins
Store Coach in Training
Kmart

"When I left the Air Force in September 2006, I was a First Lieutenant. I was contacted by Todd Phillips, who had seen my resume online. He did an outstanding job of listening to my needs and was also very helpful in preparing me for my interview with Kmart, with whom I accepted a position. The salary I was offered was $15,000 more than what I was offered by any other corporation with which I had interviewed on my own or through any other recruiting firms.

Orion was far superior to the competition. They listened when I told them that I wanted to stay in Michigan and found opportunities for me there when other recruiters were trying to get me to interview out-of-state.

My experience with Orion was very positive. Orion and Todd exceeded my needs and went above and beyond. I would recommend their services to anyone searching for a new career. Thank you for all your assistance. Orion truly assisted me in finding a job that I will enjoy."

Mike Wang
Accredited Home Lenders
Account Executive

"I started my new position with Accredited Home Lenders at the start of the New Year. I definitely could not have done it without the support of Orion and JP Sniffen. Their motivational attitude was instrumental in getting me into the right mindset. Orion provides a tremendous service for those of us transitioning out of the service and back into the civilian sector."

Pat Rowe
Project Manager
US BioEnergy

"I was a Captain when I separated from the Army in July 2001. I began my most recent job search in July 2006 and decided to use Orion. My recruiter was Todd Phillips. He was definitely on the lookout for a career that fit the guidelines that I provided Orion. In fact, I interviewed with US BioEnergy and was offered a job on the spot. The position was a better match than I could have ever imagined! Orion found the perfect job for me and were much more responsive and concerned about my specifications along the way than other recruiting agencies. I had a great experience with Orion. They found me the perfect position. I'd definitely recommend Orion to someone looking for their dream job!"

Jake Yuchasz
Team Leader
General Mills

"As a former Non-Commissioned Officer, and a recent college grad, I was unsure of what to expect in the job market. I knew that I possessed valuable leadership and analytical skills, as well as the "intangible" skill set that any worthwhile military member retains. Needless to say, I was anxious when I began my job search in October 2006 after having been out of the Army for about three years, where I worked as a Medical Platoon Sergeant in a Light Infantry Battalion. I came across Orion on the Internet after looking online and dealing with other recruiting agencies that simply listed my resume on their database. In fact, I was told by other agencies that corporate America was only interested in hiring a former JMO. After dealing with Orion, I accepted a position as Team Leader at General Mills within three weeks of the hiring conference I attended!

Todd Phillips, my recruiter, was awesome!! I had several conversations with him before he even attempted to match me with a company. Through speaking with Todd, I came to realize that this wasn't the typical recruiting company. Orion is staffed by former military! I was never pushed into anything and was able to confidently voice any misgiving without fear of being placed on the "back burner." Todd was obviously taking all of my family's and my needs into account when he proposed which companies I should speak with.

I attended only one hiring conference with Orion, and it was AMAZING. It was well organized and did not waste a moment of the time of any of the candidates in attendance. Upon arrival, I was given an itinerary for the next couple of days, including interviews with several different companies. Within two days of the conference, I spoke with Todd and learned how I fared with the companies. I had been to events put on by other recruiting agencies, and Orion's was far and away the most professional.

Following the hiring conference, I was fielding calls from all but one of the companies with which I interviewed. In fact, I was so confident in Orion that I turned down one job offer that I had from outside of Orion and ended up accepting the Team Leader position with General Mills for $20,000 more than the one I turned down. Thanks to Orion's hiring conference I achieved my goal of finding a stable position that allowed my wife, who was separating from the military as well, to have the option of staying home with our newborn.

Orion not only met my needs; they far exceeded any and all expectations I had. Orion was definitely the most professional, courteous, and proactive of the recruiting agencies with which I have worked. Each candidate recruiter I spoke with was extremely knowledgeable in their area of expertise, and they were genuinely concerned with how I felt the process was going. I could not have asked for a better or more enjoyable experience. Orion made it all possible!"

Sean Beckett
Project Manager
Oceaneering International

"My experience with Orion, both prior to and during conference, was extremely positive. I don't offer this compliment simply because I am pumped up about a higher than average starting salary, but rather because I honestly feel that solid matches were made based upon my expressed preferences and participating client opportunities. Additionally, the materials and support provided prior to conference were fundamental to my success during interviews.

I attended a later conference held by another recruiting firm and walked away from it with a completely different feeling than I did from the Orion conference, where I came away with a job and a positive perception of Orion. Thank you, Bob Berkholz, and the team at Orion!"

Christopher Lobus
Account Executive
Accredited Home Lenders

"I was introduced to an opportunity with my new employer, Accredited Home Lenders, after only one inquiry to Orion International, which was a much more productive and timely response than I got from another military-focused recruiter. Unlike that other recruiter, the Orion representatives I worked with encouraged me to conduct my own thorough research, so I was able to determine which company I wanted to pursue with confidence. I am very pleased to be enrolled in Accredited's Management Trainee Program, because it is the right fit for my career aspirations based on both my transferable military skills and experience. I appreciate Orion's approach because it allowed me to stay in control of the job search and make confident decisions. I am grateful for the help I received from JP Sniffen and Chris Hurst and am very satisfied with the job they helped me find."

Abe Rivas
Unit Manager
Stryker Instruments

"I started looking for a job in September of 2006 after deciding to separate from the United States Air Force where I served as an Operations and Training Officer. I placed my resume online and was soon contacted by Matthew Owens. After speaking with Matt, I attended a hiring conference with Orion where the set up was exactly what I was looking for. I arrived on a Sunday and practiced interview techniques with the Orion team for half a day. We then received in-depth company information for the second half. Finally, the interviews were broken up into two days, which was perfect. I highly recommend these conferences to any transitioning JMO. The conference helped me find exactly the job I was looking for. I will be in a leadership role with a huge amount of responsibility working in an organization that strives to be #1.

I believe Orion better prepares its candidates for success than other agencies, and they develop a great rapport with their candidates. Indeed, Orion met my needs 100%. Matt and the Orion team were fantastic. They made every effort to set me up for success, and I was treated professionally. The service your company provides is unmatched and is instrumental during the transition process. Your team has quality people, and it was a pleasure to work with them. I truly thank the Orion team out of Cincinnati!"

Roger Trimble
Project Manager
VEECO

"Unlike their competition, Orion was straight up with me from the beginning and did not try to sell me on the regular line of empty promises that other recruiting firms did, nor did they play down the competition. Stephanie Moser simply explained what opportunities she had for me and that they could be great backups if other opportunities did not pan out. That was exactly what happened, and she came through for me! My job with VEECO is exactly what I was looking for since it is surprisingly similar to what I was doing as an operations officer in the Army. I can confidently say that Stephanie found me a job for which my prior service prepared me well."

Ingo Kaufman
Group Leader
Target Corporation

"I began my job search in September 2005, ten months before I officially separated from the military where I served as a 1LT (p) Branched Armor in the US Army. I had received numerous mailings from Orion and decided to give them a try, as well as interview with other recruiting firms. I did my homework and successfully interviewed with several different firms.

At Orion, my recruiter Matthew Owens, treated me very well and with the utmost respect. He responded to my inquiry with a detailed list of companies seeking candidates in a specific region. I was unable to attend any conferences, but I did pick a company from the list Matt sent me and put all my eggs in that one basket. And it worked for me! I am now a group leader for the Target Corporation. It is not only the type of job I was looking for, but is THE job I was looking for in exactly the location I wanted.

Compared to the other agencies I worked with, Orion most closely suited my needs. Unlike Orion, the competition does not grant much flexibility in terms of locations for potential jobs. Orion worked with me and managed to give me exactly what I wanted where I wanted."

Matthew Beatty
Sales Engineer
Tyco Electronics

"I heard about Orion International from a friend who separated from the Navy a few years ago. Orion connected him with a great opportunity, and he was happy with the experience working with his Orion recruiter. So when it came time for me to separate from the Navy as a Lieutenant in September 2006, I contacted Orion by phone and talked with a Stephanie Moser about my job preferences.

Stephanie was a great listener AND she delivered. The other company I was working with was nice and friendly over the phone but did not go the extra mile to help me find the ideal opportunity. For the next three months, Stephanie contacted me when opportunities opened. The Orion team assisted me with the interview process and even prepped me with potential interview questions. I felt fully prepared going into the interviews.

I was recently hired as a Sales Associate for Stryker Medical. The job is exactly what I was looking for. Also, I was very specific with Stephanie about location. Orion not only got me the location, they also connected me with a great company.

Orion ranks far better than the competition. Most companies rely solely on hiring conferences to fit candidates with jobs and will not connect you with opportunities outside of the conferences. While hiring conferences are great, they do not always provide the best solution for someone like me looking for a specific opportunity. Orion thought outside the box of conferences and continuously provided legitimate leads for me.

Orion was a valuable source during my job search. The recruiters at Orion listened and wanted to help. At the end of the day, it was Orion who provided me with the lead to my new job. Thanks!"
~ Scott Mackes, Associate Sales Representative, Stryker Medical

"For those in the military seeking a seamless transition into civilian employment I can't recommend a better facilitator than the folks at Orion. JP Sniffen and his staff embodied the excellence and professionalism that we all have become accustomed to throughout our careers. Their attention to detail and personalized service help to squelch the uncertainty throughout the process and gives candidates confidence while participating in the hiring conferences and interviewing with companies. The Orion staff delivered by setting me up with several opportunities that resulted in multiple job offers. They helped me to find the perfect fit in the exact location I was looking for, at the compensation package my family needed, with a Sales Engineer position with Tyco Electronics. Without their help I would have had difficulty focusing my efforts and tracking down the most solid prospects. Semper Fidelis."

Chris Clifford
Industrial Construction Management
Graycor

"A friend of mine obtained a good job through Orion, so as my separation date from the Army approached, I decided to start searching for jobs through Orion, as well. True to my friend's experience, my needs and priorities were very much considered by my recruiter, Todd Phillips, who treated me very well. I attended a hiring conference and obtained a position with as an engineer at a large construction firm, which was exactly the position I was hoping to find, as I was an engineer in the Army. Orion completely met my needs.I had no need to look anywhere else."

Kevin Underwood
Assistant Human Resources Manager
Tyco Healthcare

"I completed my Naval career as Operations Officer on USS Mount Whitney, having reached the rank of LCDR. I left the Navy in August 2006 and started searching for jobs when I returned stateside thereafter. After Orion contacted me, I began working with Chris Demmons, who was outstanding. I made things more challenging by initially restricting my search to the Tampa Bay area. Chris listened and made every effort to find me a position. He definitely worked with me to attain a position that I would be excited about. I then attended the Atlanta hiring conference where I completed six interviews over two days! The on-site interview preparation conducted in small group sessions during the hiring process was without a doubt critical to my successful pursuit of a position with Tyco Healthcare.

Roger Ouimet immediately provided me feedback for his companies at the conference, and Chris followed up with me the following week. By then, I was on my follow-up interview with Tyco, where I am now the Assistant Human Resources Manager. It was the exact position I was looking for. I would never have been able to break into the HR field without Orion.

One of the things I liked about Orion was that the employees frowned upon bashing the competition. They felt their own superior performance spoke for itself and refrained from knocking the other guys. Ed Voelsing in particular was adamant that while Orion is better, you can spend your time telling others that fact or you go out and prove it. Orion certainly proved it. I felt that the individuals who worked with me from Orion were first-class. Rob Gumpper, Ed, Chris, and Roger are outstanding representatives of Orion. Orion is a superior veteran placement company, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone separating from the service."

Nikki Peoples
Inventory Analyst
Home Depot

"Thank you so much for helping me to get the position at Home Depot. I start next Monday and am really looking forward to it! Please thank everyone on the Orion team, including Rob Gumpper, for all of their efforts. I'm greatly appreciative."

Jeff Platt
Production Supervisor
PCC Structurals

"After attending the US Coast Guard Academy and graduating in 2001, I served for five years and reached the rank of Lieutenant. In March 2006, I began my job search in preparation for a July separation. A co-worker referred me to Orion International. I worked mainly with JP Sniffen and was very impressed with him. He treated me very professionally, and I felt that I was important to him.not just another 'number'. I attended a Seattle hiring conference and received a job offer to be a Production Supervisor for a large cast parts company. This was exactly the type of job I was looking for. Overall, I felt that Orion far exceeded the other recruiters I worked with. I feel that Orion was truly trying to meet all of my needs (location, type of position, etc.), and they were not just trying to find me some job and move on to the next candidate. Did Orion meet my needs? YES!!"

Cory Demery
Sales Engineer
Tyco Electronics

"My experience with Orion was outstanding! After looking for a job on my own for about six months as I prepared to separate from the Air Force in May 2007, I turned to Orion with only six months left to go. I heard about Orion through colleagues at work and was soon in contact with J.P. Sniffen. He was extremely helpful throughout the process and prepared me to the maximum extent possible while considering all my needs.

I attended a hiring conference in San Diego and interviewed with five companies. The pairing of the companies to me was very effective. Orion did a great job matching my needs and desires to the companies that could provide those to me. I will soon hold the position of a Sales Engineer with Tyco Electronics. This position is exactly what I was looking for. I would recommend Orion to any prior military personnel looking to enter the corporate world. The process and preparation that Orion provides for their candidates is extremely effective. I am very happy with my new position and owe it all to Orion."

Ken Burr
Retail Store Manager
Kmart

"In the military, I held positions such as Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Operations Officer, Detachment Commander, and Company Commander. I am currently a Captain, and am drilling as a reservist. I began searching for jobs after my tour of duty in Iraq in 2005 and after working in a civilian job already.

I learned about Orion through an online search. Stephanie Moser was my recruiter, and she was fantastic. She treated me with professionalism and enthusiasm. All my needs were considered, which was great!

I attended the Philadelphia hiring conference, where I met with several companies and narrowed them down to the few that I wanted to seriously consider. After the dust settled, and I narrowed my focus, I was scheduled for follow up interviews with Kmart among others, and then they gave me an offer letter! I was elated since they were my first choice. The position I applied for was a Store Manager. I will eventually become a District Manager.

Orion definitely met all of my needs. They blow away the competition, and I would recommend them to anyone transitioning from the military!"

Melinda Welch
Retail Store Manager
Kmart Corporation

"Thank you SOOOmuch for all your help. I really want my military comrades to know that Orion is DEFINITELY the way to go as far as finding QUALITY career choices post service. Thanks again to Stephanie Moser and the Orion team for making my life delightful once again!"

Robert Brown
Allied Waste
Operations Manager

"I just want to thank Bob Berkholz and his team of professionals for helping me find a job. Allied Waste offered me an Operations Manager position on Friday, and I accepted without hesitation. Since December 2006, I have applied for hundreds of jobs through online resume sites with no luck. With Orion, I interviewed with eight companies in the past two months, and that's all I needed--an opportunity to sell myself during a face-to-face interview. Orion's interview preparation along with exposure to companies was key in find a job. If it were not for Orion, I do not know what I would have done. Orion International is awesome, and I will be sure to recommend Orion to all of my friends."

August Negele
Business Development Manager

"My last day in the Navy was April 30, 2007, but I started seriously looking for jobs in December 2006. I knew of Orion International through mailings I received since being stationed on the USS Michigan as a division officer (2002-5), and I was given Stephanie Moser's name by a fellow submariner. Stephanie was great. I think I may have been a challenging candidate because of my background. My pay, location, and job type requirements were demanding, and I needed a job in a place where my wife could continue her career. Stephanie never put limitations on my career search and was always very understanding. She always listened to me and met my needs.

I attended the Philadelphia conference, and while I didn't accept a job from it, I did do a couple of follow-up interviews that helped prepare me for when the right job came along. I then attended the Chicago conference where I worked with Todd Phillips. While at the Chicago conference, I got two leads for site interviews from companies not at the conference. Dan Young told me that AAR liked my resume and sent me straight over to their office before my flight out. I then interviewed at AAR's Garden City, New York, location (near where I lived) and then had a third interview with them in Chicago. Dan was an awesome account executive. After my interview with AAR, I worked almost solely with him. He is very personable and helped me along the way. Dan even helped me to negotiate a $4,000 sign-on bonus after the initial offer from AAR was a bit smaller than I wanted.

I am now a Business Development Manager with AAR, so the interviews obviously worked out! The location is perfect because it starts in New York followed by a transfer to Chicago, which was my preferred location. There are lots of project management jobs out there, but this one deals with aerospace. I get to work on projects involving components from various aircraft on both the commercial and defense side, which makes the job much more interesting to me than a typical PM position.

Orion was hands down my favorite recruiting agency, and I worked seriously with two other major players in the business (and had brief contact with two more). Orion definitely ran the best conference out of the three. Towards the end of my job search, I thought I was going to get a job offer from a company via a lead from one of Orion's competitors. It was funny because I was really excited about the job, but disappointed that I couldn't sign through Orion! It turned out that I didn't get the offer, so I didn't need to worry about it. Then the offer from AAR came through via Orion. It sounds strange, but I was actually upset that I was going to have to sign through another agency! That's how much I enjoyed working with Orion.

The Orion people really make the difference. Everyone at Orion was casual, yet professional, and they were open to hearing all of my preferences, while trying to help set realistic expectations. There was always more of a genuine sense of a partnership between Orion and me, as well as a team spirit between different Orion members that I really noticed. Although I get along with just about everyone, I felt most comfortable with Orion. Out of the five JMO placement firms I had at least some contact with, Orion is the best!"

Andy Grillos
Account Executive
SunGard Availability Services

"Orion International is clearly first-class in the JMO placement service community. Orion did a superb job of preparing me for the entire interview process from start to finish. I felt like the company always had my best interest at heart.

Each of Orion's representatives took into account my professional, personal, and geographic preferences and found positions that perfectly matched my needs. Orion did a great job of meeting my needs and making me feel important!"

Sean Casey
Marketing Manager
FNH USA

"My recruiter, Chris Hurst, was a constant professional. Before I attended the Orion Hiring Conference, I submitted my resume for over 20 positions and received little to no responses. I was unable to get my foot in the door to conduct an interview. Orion was able to help me get that foot in the door and obtain an opportunity to interview with various businesses in the geographical location I wanted. I found that getting to the interview is the hardest step.and Orion was able to fill that gap."

Vince Dutter
Safety and Regulatory Engineer
GE Healthcare

"Orion International is perfectly placed to understand the military career and where its attributes may be useful in corporate America. They presented me with options that I may not have recognized, even with the tons of internet research I did. Todd Phillips, my recruiter, treated me very well. He presented me with several good options at the Chicago conference, including GE Healthcare, where I now work!

Orion was able to entertain my interests, experience, background, and geographic desires. Simply put, I was extremely pleased. Thanks to Orion, I separated from the Air Force as a Captain in July knowing I had already landed a job in May! This GE job was a true homerun for me."

Young Song
Project Manager
Hitco Carbon Composites

"I became aware of Orion in June 2006 through an email from a recruiter, so when it came time to separate from the Army in April of this year, I contacted Orion. JP Sniffen was a terrific recruiter. He did a great job of accommodating my needs while providing me with great information. It was very personalized service. When I began to seriously search for a job, I didn't really have a strong idea of what I wanted to get into. JP showed me a wide variety of positions and industries in order to expose me to what was out there. I then attended a hiring conference in San Diego, and obtained the position of Project Manager for Hitco Carbon Composites. Orion provided me with great service and no pressure. They were truly working to help me find the job that I wanted. Working with JP and Orion was a terrific experience with a great group of professionals!"

Sean Frohnapfel
Business Analyst
St. Jude Medical

"I first began searching for a job a year before my separation from the Air Force in May 2004. I did not, however, use Orion at the time. I came to Orion in February 2007 through a referral from a friend and started my job with St. Jude Medical the first week of May. Orion completely outdid their competition! Orion representatives were more flexible and encouraging, offered more options, and were just more fun. My recruiter, Stephanie Moser, was great! She was incredibly responsive and very insightful. Stephanie completely listened to my desires and met them to the fullest! I don't know that I can ever thank her enough for the wonderful career that she has provided me...so I just keep recommending her to more candidates! Thanks to Stephanie I am a Business Analyst at a medical device company. It is EXACTLY the type of position I was looking for. Orion completely matched my experiences with my desires. Finding a job is an incredibly stressful experience. Orion took great efforts to make the transition as smooth as possible!"

Josh Datko
Instrumentation and Control Engineer
Washington Group

"Two things about Orion set it apart for me. One was the conference format. Had I not been exposed to different types of positions in different industries, I think I would have accepted a job doing what I 'thought' I wanted to do and would not have been nearly as happy. Second was that I had contacted most of the major recruiting agencies prior to deployment, and Stephanie Moser was the only recruiter who made repeated contact with me over deployment. After six months of being on deployment and knowing that I had to find a job directly afterwards, I appreciated that she had kept up with me."

Leslie Bjornnes
Supply Chain Business Manager
Aero Precision Industries

"I started job searching again in April 2007 after having worked for civilian employers from 2000 to the present. Previously, I held a rank of Major in the Air Force when I separated in 2000. As part of my job search, I attended a MilitaryStars career expo in early May 2007, where I left my resume at the Orion International booth. JP Sniffen then contacted me from Orion and began to send me potential job opportunities. I attended the San Diego hiring conference and interviewed with eight potential employers. From those interviews, I was offered a couple of follow-up, on-site interviews. I then landed a position with Aero Precision, where I will be heading up the Taiwan Sales Division. This is exactly the type of job I've been looking for.a perfect match!

Compared to my past job search experience with other military recruiters, Orion International's operation was highly organized and well orchestrated. I feel I had plenty of assistance to prepare for the 'getting-to-know-you' interviews at the hiring conference. I particularly enjoyed meeting with potential employers who are open-minded and willing to discover unpolished gems hidden in the military community. I've been treated extraordinarily well by JP and the rest of the Orion staff, including Katrina Ross, Bill Miles and Jim Perdue. Everyone was very professional and extremely helpful."

Jose Martinez
Assistant Project Manager
RW Beck

"I was treated very well by the staff at Orion. I felt as though JP Sniffen was looking out for my best interests. I also had great support from Bill Fitzgerald and Jennifer Terrell. Thanks, Orion!"

David Douchkoff
Production Manager
Hartung Glass Industries

"Katrina Ross and JP Sniffen were awesome! The two of them combined were the number one reason I continued to turn down the opportunities provided to me by a competitor. Katrina and JP did a great job preparing me for interviews. If people would just listen to their advice and follow their guidance, getting a job would be easy. Without a doubt, I will refer anyone and everyone that asks me about post-military employment to Orion. The bottom line is that they opened doors and taught me how to talk my way inside them."

Michael Linder
Store Coach in Training
Kmart

"With Orion International, I found a job I didn't know I was looking for! I began to work with Orion in January 2007. I had previously served as a Captain in the Air Force and was actively searching for a new career when Orion came onto the scene. JP Sniffen was my recruiter. He treated me with the utmost respect and listened to my needs.even when my needs were in constant flux.

I interviewed with JP on the phone in January to assess my skills, qualifications, and background. JP invited me to a number of hiring conferences, but I only ended up attending one in February being held in Seattle, which was closest to my home. To prepare, I participated in the pre-conference call to find out about interview techniques and conference participants. This was followed by the conference. At the conference, Kmart filled my criteria for a career opportunity, so I interviewed with them. JP followed up with me after the conference to tell me how my interview went and told me to expect a call from Kmart within the week. I kept in contact with JP throughout the interview process with Kmart to let him know of any progress and delays in the process, as well as any concerns I had throughout the process. Once I received the offer letter, I let JP know of the success that Orion had facilitated with Kmart.

I am currently a Store Coach (Manager) in Training with great prospects of being a Store Coach within six months, if not sooner. I am very excited about the opportunity to help propel Kmart forward as it positions itself as an industry leader in the very competitive retail marketplace. I am very satisfied with the process Orion has in place for placing candidates like me. I had been looking for comparable employment to what I was doing in the military for over 15 months, and, only when I began working with Orion, was I able to secure the opportunity of a lifetime!

Orion International is a winner to me. I would recommend them to any of my friends who are contemplating a career outside of the military. Their staff was friendly and helpful in meeting my needs for meaningful employment and worked very quickly in answering my questions. If they didn't have the answer right in front of them, they worked tirelessly to get the answer within 48 hours, if not sooner. What a great organization. Thanks, Orion!"

Bruce Hunt
Project Engineer
MPR Associates

"I was an Air Force Communications and Information Officer (separated as a Captain), where I held a flight command position and various program management jobs. I left the military in 2001, so I could return to Europe and work as a defense contractor. In April 2007, I began searching for jobs when I decided I wanted a change from defense contracting and wanted to return to the U.S.

I learned about Orion International through a good friend who successfully landed a job out of the Dallas hiring conference in March 2007. Stephanie Moser was my recruiter. She treated me very professionally and like an adult. I was very impressed with how closely I was matched with the industries I expressed interest in prior to the conference.

I attended the Baltimore Distinguished Candidate Conference in May 2007, where I interviewed with seven different companies during the interview day. I then worked with the Account Executives and companies to schedule three final interviews. Ultimately, I received an offer from MPR Associates, Inc. I will hold an engineering/technical project management position with MPR. This is the exact job I was looking for. MPR Associates was my #1 pick all along. I really wanted the opportunity to work in the energy sector, and MPR has a large presence in that area.

Getting a job from overseas is extremely challenging. Utilizing Orion's network of great companies and jobs was the right way to go for my family and me. Overall, the Orion experience met or exceeded all my expectations by helping me to land a great job and start a rewarding career."

Alex Cantu
Meteorologist
enXco

"All the Orion International members I worked with treated me with respect and were very professional. I first began corresponding with Katrina Ross in December 2006. We both agreed that I should attend the June 3-5, 2007, Hiring Conference in San Diego. Kandi Sisson followed up several times as the conference date approached. These preparations were very valuable as they greatly increased my ability to effectively interview.

Although not a recruiter, Jennifer Terrell was instrumental in me getting an opportunity to interview for the meteorology position at enXco. Jennifer handles the account with enXco and was aware the company was looking for a meteorologist. When Jennifer learned I had been a Navy meteorologist the last 12 years, she encouraged me to interview with enXco. EnXco's human resources representative was coming down the next day to interview for "operational" positions only. Jennifer worked to quickly set up a special interview for the meteorology position. I cannot say how much I appreciate her efforts.

About a week prior to the Hiring Conference, JP gave valuable interviewing training through his web-based presentation. Before the conference, I was given a list of potential companies with which JP felt I was best matched and was presented with detailed information about each company. I felt confident going into my interviews thanks to the company briefings and interview training given by JP and his team.

The companies with which JP presented me were all good companies; however, the company that ended up hiring me wasn't on this list. This was because of Jennifer's astuteness in connecting me with enXco. I will be the meteorologist at enXco, a quickly growing company in the evolving field of creating electricity from renewable energy sources.

I would encourage anyone leaving the service to use Orion. At first, I was skeptical that my next career would actually come from a recruiter. However, I really liked Orion. The Orion process is not just an opportunity to get a job; it is also a valuable education experience. The Hiring Conferences permit multiple interviews to occur in a short 2-3 day process. If for some reason a job is not obtained through Orion, the education and advice obtained from going through a number of interviews in a short time period will be valuable in future job searches.

The ability of Orion members to identify unique matches, quickly move and adapt was demonstrated in my situation. The effort the Orion team is willing to go in making a good match that fits, not just a match to get a check in the box, says volumes about how serious this company is about helping military personnel make a successful transition to the civilian sector."
