We are looking for candidates with electrical, mechanical or maintenance backgrounds, and a proven track record of success in the military, who are interested in working in the Oil & Gas Industry in Anchorage, AK.

About Parker Drilling
Parker Drilling parks its oil rigs off the beaten path. Its helicopter-transportable rigs allow the drilling contractor to work in otherwise inaccessible desert, mountain, and remote jungle locations. Its barge rigs allow the company to drill in transition zones (such as bays and marshes). Parker Drilling owns 28 land rigs and 17 US-based barge drilling and work over rigs. The company drills worldwide (in nine countries since 2008) and has worked in 54 countries since its founding. Subsidiary Quail Tools provides rental tools for oil and gas drilling and work over activities, with operations in the Gulf Coast, the Rocky Mountains, and West Texas regions. Parking Drilling also has a drilling rig construction unit.
In recent years the company has been targeting international markets. A pioneer in arctic drilling, Parker Drilling is marketing its services to operators in the harsh environments of the Caspian Sea, Western Siberia, and Sakhalin Island. Its land drilling operations are focused primarily in the Asia/Pacific region, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (formerly the Soviet Union). Its barge drilling operations are located mainly in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caspian Sea.
Parker’s Alaska Operations in support of customer BP began in 2007-2008, and include operation of the Liberty Rig (one of the worlds largest) as well as two new rigs coming online in early 2010 in the vicinity of Anchorage AK. Parker was founded in 1934, and has grown to a team today of more than 2,500 associates who produced nearly $1 Billion in revenue during 2009.
Current Positions
Electrician Repairs and maintains electrical machinery, electrical circuits, coordinates electrical repairs for all heating, air conditioning equipment, refrigeration and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.
Maintenance Mechanic Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.
Motorhand Responsible for using drill pipe tongs, spinning chain, air spinners, slips, variety of hand tools, as well as assisting with the handling of stands of drill pipe and collars. Assists with repair and maintenance of large mud pumps, shale shaker, desander, desilter, and degasser units. Visually checks all instruments, gauges, and fluid levels; changes oil in motors, drawwors, and swivel. Checks the motors, reads gauges, checks the boiler and water tank.
Welder Performs welding and fabrication, and performs general rig maintenance. Welds wellheads and draw works; repairs high-pressure lines; repairs mud lines, water lines, and centrifugal pumps; and replaces rusted out plates. Builds and replaces walkways, handrails, tool boxes and pallet forks. Performs pipe fitting and pipe welding. Monitors tools, cutting hose, and all steel on rig.
In addition to having the skill set required to complete the technical aspects of the position in which you are interested, you must also have a positive attitude, a successful military career, and proven leadership experience.
