  • Technical Pipeliner
    Responsibilities for this position include:

      • Coordinate activities as needed to assist in the receipt, storage and delivery of petroleum products via pipeline.
      • Perform operational duties in accordance with Phillips 66 operating and procedures guides and local operating procedures guides
      • Identify and promptly communicate operational and equipment problems and complete trouble reports
      • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, calibrations and replacement of equipment as necessary

  • Maintenance Pipeliner Technician

    Responsible for preventive maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, electronic and pipeline systems. Responsibilities for this position include:


      • Performing routine pipeline and terminal maintenance
      • Responding promptly and effectively to customer needs
      • Responding to emergencies and assisting in maintaining emergency equipment

  • Operator

    An Operator works rotating shifts on various units within the refinery which process or produce crude oil, petroleum coke, fuel oil, intermediates, gasoline, diesel, steam, electricity and other products. Some of the processes involved use hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure. Operators are exposed to various work conditions including outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration and occasionally working from heights and confined spaces. Operators must follow safe work practices including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). In addition, Operators perform various duties required to keep their assigned processing unit/area operating safely and at specified production/run rates. Responsibilities include:


      • Maintaining equipment and operations
      • Climbing ladders, tanks and towers
      • Taking samples/readings of various process streams
      • Initiating work orders and permitting for work related to the assigned unit
      • Maintaining proper and safe process operations of the operating equipment
      • Serving on the refinery emergency response fire brigade, rescue team, and/or first responder team

  • Maintenance Craft Positions

    The Maintenance Craft positions may be responsible for:


      • Instrument/Analyzer Technician - Installing, removing, calibrating and repairing refinery electronic, digital, and pneumatic process control instruments. Installing and maintaining on-line analyzers. Testing and maintaining Safety Instrument Systems. Troubleshooting, maintaining and overhauling process control valves. Fabricating small diameter instrument tubing. Preparing schematic drawings, sketches and reports to reflect activities. Coordinating work of others as needed. Reading and interpreting documentation such as schematics and procedures.
      • Machinist (Millwright) - Maintaining and troubleshooting plant rotating equipment including, but not limited to: centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, centrifugal and axial air blowers, steam turbines and gear boxes; also fin fans, cooling tower fans, soot blowers. Preforming close tolerance work on metal machining equipment such as lathes. Performing repairs using various machine shop tools and equipment. Reading and interpreting technical materials and manuals. Communicating with outside contractors and personnel to coordinate maintenance and repair.
      • Rigger/Crane Operator - Operating power construction equipment, such as compressors, pumps, hoists, shovels, cranes, or tractors to excavate and move earth, erect structural and reinforcing steel, and pouring concrete or other materials. Controlling air and water output of compressors and pumps. Maintaining equipment. Adjusting hand wheels and depress pedals to drive machines and control attachments. Assembling rigging to lift and move equipment or material in plant or on construction project. Selecting cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved. Attaching pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings and gin pole booms with bolts and clamps. Attaching load to crane hook with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes and chains. May direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment.
      • Welder - Preparing, planning, obtaining and setting up materials and clearances to execute work. Inspecting, maintaining and testing equipment. Fabricating and assembling parts and equipment. Removing, repairing and replacing pipes, tubing and valves. Maintaining logs and records.
      • Electrician - Planning layout and installing and repairs conduit, wiring, electrical fixtures, and control equipment. Preparing sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams and blueprints to ensure that concealed wiring is installed. Installing electrical conduit and pulls wiring through. Connecting power cables to equipment and installing grounding leads. Repairing faulty equipment or systems. Performing preventive maintenance on 480v motor control centers and medium voltage switchgear.
      • Boilermaker - Using shop grinders, electric saws, metal binding equipment, sheers, drill presses, torches and other equipment to work on multiple types of pressure vessels; such as tanks, drums, towers and reactors. It also includes the installation, dismantling and construction of piping systems in various product services. Isolating assembling and disassembling of piping systems, valves, rupture discs, steam tracing, gauge glass, heat exchangers. Using hand and power tools and other heavy equipment necessary for completion of the task.
      • Pipefitter - Installing, dismantling, and constructing of piping systems in various product services. Isolating, assembling and disassembling of piping systems, valves, rupture discs, steam tracing, gauge glass, heat exchangers. Using hand and power tools and other heavy equipment necessary for completion of the task.
    • Requirements
      • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Instrument Technician

    Under the general direction of the Instrument Supervisor, performs any and all work for which qualified in a safe and efficient manner, including but not limited to: repairing, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and servicing a wide variety of equipment. Responsibilities include:


      • Proficient in executing and completing daily maintenance work orders
      • Analyzes and plans maintenance repairs to ensure work is completed in a safe, environmentally-compliant, timely and cost effective manner
      • Actively participates in planning the safety process, i.e. JHA's, to assure all plans are in compliance with applicable company policies and procedures

  • Electrician - Sweeny Refinery in Old Ocean, TX

    The Electrician role works independently and with others to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.


    Key Duties and Responsibilities

      • Planning layout, installing and repairing conduit, wiring, electrical fixtures, and control equipment
      • Preparing sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams and blueprints to ensure that concealed wiring is installed
      • Install, remove, calibrate and repair of electronic digital and analog and pneumatic process control instruments.
      • Able to perform repair work on electric motors, complex shutdown systems, UPS systems, PILC terminations, EPR cable terminations, relay testing - microprocessor and electromechanical substation maintenance, substation breaker maintenance, medium voltage and high voltage substation battery testing, transformer maintenance, testing breaker control schemes and other associated equipment
      • Able to troubleshoot, dismantle, repair and reassemble the disabled equipment following verbal and written safety and job task work directions
      • Able to read and interpret manuals, standards, schematics, wiring diagrams and federal, state and local codes and regulations

  • Machinist - Sweeny Refinery in Old Ocean, TX

    The Machinist role works independently and with others to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. The position is a primarily straight day job, subject to mandatory shift work, call outs, and overtime.


    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    The Boilermaker position duties include working on heat exchangers, towers and drums, structural steel, and various other equipment associated with the petrochemical industry.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

      • Providing maintenance and repair for equipment, including preventative and predictive maintenance, testing, calibration, equipment upgrades and reliability
      • Assuring compliance with all Company policies and procedures and training requirements
      • Performing calibrations, programming and repairs on electronic and electro-pneumatic equipment and parts associated with this equipment

    Preferred Qualifications

      • Refinery experience in Instrumentation
      • Proficient (perform with limited assistance) with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access

      • 3+ years’ experience in maintenance working in industrial environment
      • 3+ years direct experience in a refinery or chemical plant environment, or related military service
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

    Salary: $32.49/hr-$34.53/hr, depending on experience

  • Pipefitter – Sweeny Refinery in Old Ocean, TX

    The Pipefitter role works independently and with others to perform preventative, predictive and routing maintenance tasks. They troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. The position is primarily a straight day job, subject to mandatory shift work, call outs and overtime.


    Key Duties and Responsibilities

      • Work safely at all times and adopt company core values around safe work and behaviors
      • Learn, observe, and follow safe work practices
      • Learn and follow policies and procedures
      • Install flanged and screwed piping and associated valves
      • Install and remove blinds• Install and remove blinds
      • Routinely listen and follow instructions
      • Communicate orally and in writing with other team members, leaders and operations personnel
      • Use a variety of safety and personal protective equipment
      • Work out of craft and with other crafts as needs dictate
      • Pass all qualification tests, both written and practical, as administered by the Sweeny refinery training team

    Position Requirements

      • Must be at least 18 years of age
      • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions
      • High school diploma or GED
      • Valid Texas driver's license
      • Ability to work outside in an oil refinery environment; enter and work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and towers and wear Personal Protective Equipment including fall protection and respiratory protection
      • Able to operate motor vehicles
      • Lift and transport up to 75 pounds
      • Climb and retrieve parts or make repairs from various heights
      • Ability to understand and carry out work direction in a safe manner

    Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience in a refinery or chemical plant environment
      • Experience in the pipefitter craft or other maintenance background

    Position Details

    Salary: $22.66/hr-$34.06/hr, depending on experience
